Frankie Schneider told me that Wally started driving stock cars the same year as himself, 1947. The first two photos here are Wally's first ride at Flemington in June. Wally ended the year as the point standing leader of the new American Stock Car Racing Association (ASCRA) based in Trenton, NJ. Established late in the season, they ran two sanctioned races at Flemington and Dover NJ.
